Caroline and Sanket’s wedding in Congress Park, and reception at the Canfield Casino was so amazing and so detailed that we’ve decided to separate the wedding photos into two blog posts. The couple were actually married twice, so we’ll show you the first part of their wedding day today, and the second part will appear on our blog tomorrow. Their first ceremony was an Indian ceremony held in Congress Park, in the center of Saratoga Springs, and our first blog post will carry from our morning with Caroline, to the couple’s first look and their ceremony in the park.
We can’t wait to show you the rest! Stop back tomorrow!
~Sincerely – Allison & Tim
We met up with Caroline and her bridesmaids in the morning at the Canfield as they got ready. Caroline had some gorgeous details for the first part of her wedding day – filled with bright pinks, mint and gold accents.
Caroline had a couple of Sanket’s relatives stop by so they could help her put on her sari. It turns out that it’s rather complicated. It’s all in the folding.
We next traveled to a little park nearby for some first look photos.
Sanket built this beautiful mandap for the ceremony, and it was draped with coordinating colors, and Fleurtacious Designs added gorgeous cascading flowers.
Sanket entered the ceremony by dancing down the road next to the Canfield Casino with family. This was so much fun to witness! Mike Garrasi of Music Man Entertainment supplied the music!
After about a half hour of dancing, Sanket made his way into the ceremonial canopy.
Once Caroline arrived, a cloth was kept between the couple to symbolize the traditional arranged marriage. Obviously, Caroline and Sanket met on their own, so this cloth was only symbolic.
Here Caroline and Sanket are stepping around the “fire” at the center of the ceremony site.
In the photo below, Sanket is giving Caroline a sacred necklace that represents the couple’s union.
I know, I’m cutting you off midway! There is so much more to this gorgeous wedding! Stop by tomorrow for the second half of the day.
